Cutten
vs Jeromy.
Offensively this battle is a draw. Cutten is better away
from the hoop and has a better outside shot. Jeromy is the
last of a dying breed of big men and currently the best
post player in the L. (BA is playing on a farm team in sask).
On the offensive glass jeromy has the edge and always seems
to get 4 or 5 O boards a game. This will be a war complete
with kidney blasts and elbows. Looks for sparks between
these two heroines.
Wizard
vs Shipwreck (Perry)
Wizardry factor edge obviously goes to the wizard. His up
and under spells have dazzled many defenders. He recently
returned from a stint in AA Edmonton where he went back
to school to work on his outside shot. Reports from the
butterdome indicate his shot has improved. On the other
end of the tofu block you have the leagues most dangerous
man. Shippy has jersey holding skills cheap players dream
about. After receiving an early season berating from the
Godfather in turkey and GM Healy, Perry turned his games
around, he checked in with Tobi and Cory, went back to his
roots and started to play in SNYB he also started eating
steak and chicken (last sentence a lie) Look for the wizard
to pull tricks out of his hat and look for Perry to counter
with vegan elbow blasts. Ever seen the wizard mad? Get ready.
Commish
vs Deh Cho destroyer (Dez) this battle has developed
over the ages, trust me. Ever since Jim Antoine asked the
Commish to accompany him on a MLA visit to Simpson the air
has been filled with tension. Dez questioned his fathers
true love like a 2pm soap opera. “How can you do donuts
in an GNWT truck with the Commish and not even lend me your
bravo?” From this point on the destroyer has made
it his vendetta to hammer the commish. He has won titles
in consecutive years and continues to pull the strings on
championships.
Offensive skills edge DCD
Three Point bomb – Edge even. Although the commish
has been sited at 7am schooling AWG guards Tyler and Eman
in three point contests!
Defense – To blow my own horn, I’m very underrated
as a defender. Edge Commish.
Basketball IQ – Edge Commish. Not debatable.
Overall even
DC vs Colin
More like an under card to a heavy weight battle but still
worth the price of admission. DC plays with in his realm
and doesn’t try to do thing he can’t. GM Healy
drafted him for this very reason. Not many people know but
DC is one of the best fast ball players in YK. His skills
with a bat are night and day compared to his free throw
shooting an lay-ups. One other note DC may be the only coach
to win at the Junior A level against southern competition,
not sure what this means.
Colin is one of the most talented players in the league
and has a deadly fade and outside shot.
DC like to get wet and isn’t afraid to get in others
players shorts?
Edge DC he is hungrier.
God vs Titan (Cory vs Nick Diem) Battles
such as this are best saved for bookshelves and bathroom
reading. The ultimate scoring machine vs the ultimate WOWer.
The stat man tells me Nick will win the regular season scoring
title. What does this mean? Nothing. All that is left is
one game to decide who is the better scorer. Lets take a
closer look.
Outside shot – Edge Cory. Not much debate here, when
he gets hot a Rug gut punch won’t even stop him. You
just have to roll with the punches and hope he gets tired.
Nick is also an excellent outside shooter but Cory’s
years of shooting in the east pushed his through.
Driving to the hoop – two distinct driving styles.
Cory is a bull with lead pellets in his a$$, loves to scream
even if he isn’t touched and rarely doesn’t
finish. Nick on the other hand cuts to the hoop in a contained
fluid motion, similar to DC peeing himself when he shoots
free throws.
Edge even.
Leadership skills – Both players don’t say much
on the court an let their skills do their talking. Noble
attributes that a certain J .Ball could learn from.
Edge even
Rebounding – Both players like to hear their hands
slap the ball. Nick has improved his vert over the years,
cory use to be able to dunk and still gets up for rebounds.
Edge Cory, Nick gets lazy sometimes.
Killer instint – Cory doesn’t like to turn the
ball over – watch him when he does you know thors
hammer is coming down on your paws. Nick doesn’t mind
turning it over and his laid back style blends nicely.
Edge Cory.
Overall edge Cory. Too strong. Too determined to win.
